Teachers' Day

Firstly, I'd like to wish all teachers a happy teachers day!
My P5 teacher is Mrs Azhar! She is a very wonderful teacher, and all her lessons are very interesting. Sometimes, even though she has a sore throat, she will still come to school to teach. Because she is such a great teacher, I really hope that she can teach us next year(although it might not happen). Mrs Azhar is a very inspiring teacher, and always tells us to do our best in whatever we do.
I sure am looking forward to next year's Teacher's Day Celebration. So...

HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!

He has done it!

After smashing 7 world records and 1 Olympic record, Micheal Phelps, aka "The Baltimore Bullet", has gotten all the gold medals that he was aiming for! On Sunday (17/8/08), Phelps and his team managed to grab the gold medal to bring his medal tally to 8. In the first two rounds of the relay medley, the US were lagging behind in 3rd place, but Phelps and teammate Jason Lezak managed to turn the tides on their opponents!
In his second last race, Phelps nearly lost his gold to a Serbian, Milorad Cavic, but thanks to his speed, managed to miss getting the silver medal by just 1 millisecond. Very close indeed.
Well, let's hope he can do the same in the 2012 London Olympics! I wish him all the best!

Beijing Olympics 2008

Hi everyone! Did you see the opening ceremony for the Beijing Olympics? It was wonderful! The drummers were very synchronized, making it look as though they were one thing, instead of just being individual. It was also very interesting to see the people dancing and painting on the very big "scroll".
The fireworks that were "walking" towards the stadium was quite unique too!(although it was computer generated, as I found out later.) The man that lighted the Olympic torch "flew" on the walls before lighting the big torch.
Which athlete will you be supporting? I'll be supporting Micheal Phelps, the swimmer, who will be trying to get all 8 gold medals in all the swimming events. He almost got a silver medal in the 4 x 100m swimming event. Luckily for him, Jason Lezak, the last swimmer, forged ahead, and beat the last French swimmer by just 8 milliseconds. Very very close, don't you think? Anyway, Micheal Phelps has already won his 6th gold medal! Well, let's hope he can go on and get his 7th and 8th!

Go Micheal Phelps!
