Personal Response 4 : Earthquakes

You've all probably heard of earthquake in China, right? Today, I'm going to explain some things on earthquakes. Earthquakes are caused by underground stress that's released along fault lines under the Earth's surface, which make the plates of the Earth move, which split the Earth's surface. In an event of an earthquake, people indoors should quickly move to a safe location in the room such as under a strong desk, a strong table, or along an interior wall. This is to ensure that the person is shielded from any falling debris. Scientists can predict earthquakes. A group(I think) of scientists were trying to predict the Sichuan earthquake. But, they can only predict where the earthquakes will happen, but not when. Earthquakes have happened almost everywhere in the world. Every continent has had at least one or two earthquakes before. The reason why earthquakes happen is because these countries are located along fault lines. I don't think Singapore will ever get hit by an earthquake, but there's still a chance that we might get an earthquake.

Reflection 4 : Food Sold in our Canteen

Today, I want to talk about the food sold in the school canteen. Every day during recess, I will go to the canteen and eat. If I don't eat during recess, I'll probably get very bad gastric pains. In my opinion, I think the food in the canteen is quite nice. My favourite stall is stall no.6. I think that the food sold in the canteen is not really healthy as some food, eg. chicken rice, can still have the skin on it and the skin of the chicken is not really very healthy. I think that the food in the canteen is relatively clean. Why I've said this is because I found a small insect in the food once (Sorry, I didn't mean to sound gross, but it's true. You can skip reading this part actually). Almost all the dishes aren't really that healthy except for the vegetable dishes. Another alternative is to include more vegetable dishes. To make the canteen more conducive, we, as students, should have the responsibility in keeping the canteen clean by not littering!
